To succeed you must successfully manage not only your armies on the battlefield, but those that are waiting to be deployed. Each round you will draw 3 Unit Coins from your bag and then take turns using them to perform actions. Each coin shows a military unit on one side and can be used for one of several actions. The game ends when one player, or one team in the case of a four-player game, has placed all of their control markers. That player or team is the winner!

The chivalric system was a huge part of medieval warfare. Various offices of state were handed out to the highborn of the land, from Bannermen that surrounded kings and queens, to Earls and Heralds enacting their liege’s will across the realm. Bishoprics had much land and influence associated with them, and were sought after position for nobles.

Siege

In War Chest: Siege™ you will be confronted with fortified locations. Fear not, you have siege towers and trebuchets at your disposal and hardy sappers to both build your own fortifications and undermine your opponents’.

Can you successfully return to the battlefield with your war engines in this ingenious and engaging game of tactics and strategy?

Nightfall

In some cases, more subtle and perhaps deadly tactics are used. From fake letters and treaties, feigned retreats or advances, poisoned water supplies, assassinations and infiltration, many things can happen in the dark to throw an enemy into disarray before the main battle ever starts.

In War Chest: Nightfall, you will have the opportunity to use specialized units to hamper and hinder your opponent’s attempts to effectively mobilize their forces. Mastering the art of subterfuge will be key to success with this new and exciting expansion for the classic War Chest strategy and tactics game!

Tournament Kit

The War Chest tournament kit comes with a set of rules for running different styles of tournaments, as well as as series of new royal coins, control markers, seals, and an initiative marker, as prizes for players to customize their game. These can be used as an alternative to the base game components, and depict the Bear and Stag factions. Gold and silver colored versions of the coins allow players to secure bragging rights based on their finishing position!
