Game Description
What will you see on your adventure in Cascadia? On your turn, build out your map and match animals and habitats to add sightings to your panorama and score points!
Cascadia Junior lets younger players experience the spatial puzzle of the award-winning board game Cascadia. This stand-alone game teaches pattern building, set collection, and basic addition. Learn about bears, hawks, elk, salmon, and foxes in this diverse land of mountains, wetlands, prairies, rivers, and forests!
Game Features
- Cascadia Junior is simple to learn and plays in just 15-30 minutes. Players take turns drafting Habitat Tiles and adding them to their Environment. They must try to match the same habitats to grow their habitat corridors and score more points while creating groups of 3 wildlife icons on connected tiles.
Once they make matches they earn Wildlife and Habitat Sightings Tokens that they can add to their Panorama Board where they will make their own personal picture of the Cascadian wilderness! At the end of the game, all players flip over their Sightings Tokens to discover the Conifer Cones they have collected. The player with the most Conifer Cones wins!
- Cascadia Junior is a great stepping stone game that will allow children to learn the basics of pattern matching. Over time, they can use the included Wildlife Scoring Cards with the Advanced Mode, which requires more complex shapes for each wildlife group.
Once children gain familiarity with that mode, they can try out the Family Mode of the base Cascadia game.
- Cascadia Junior is a faithful simplification of the award-winning board game that will allow families to introduce very young children into the world of puzzly spatial games!
- Cascadia Junior is fun for the whole family. It uses the core spatial puzzle of Cascadia, while streamlining it to its most essential form, simplifying its overall play. This is a great game to play with kids as it is still a satisfying matching puzzle for adults.
- Cascadia Junior has remarkable table presence! At the end of the game not only will all players build their own habitat out of tiles, they will also have a unique panoramic picture of Cascadia!
- The game comes with breathtaking art from Beth Sobel. Beth reimagined the Cascadian landscapes and animals in a simplified style so it reminds people of a children’s book. Players of all ages will adore the bright, colorful tiles, tokens, and cards!
- The scoring system in Cascadia Junior is a mini-activity in and of itself! Collecting Wildlife and Habitat Sightings Tokens allows players to arrange them on their Panorama Board in their own creative way. These components have a great ‘toy factor’ allowing younger children to play and engage with the wildlife and habitats through their colorful and fun-shaped tokens!
- Cascadia Junior features dozens of colorful, high quality components well-suited for a younger audience, and its low retail price means that it is more easily attainable for lots of families!
